Farm School Summer Camps
Rooted in Nature, Learning Through Real Life
At Urban Green Harvest Outdoor Preschool, children learn through hands-on experiences rooted in nature, community, and the daily rhythms of life on a working urban farm in Boise, Idaho. Our nature-based preschool program gives children opportunities to explore, create, and grow through meaningful outdoor experiences including gardening, harvesting, caring for animals, cooking, nature exploration, practical life activities, and open-ended play.
We believe young children learn best through movement, curiosity, creativity, and real-world experiences. Rather than a traditional classroom setting, our farm becomes the learning environment—alive with opportunities for discovery throughout the seasons. Children participate in the life of the farm by planting seeds, watering gardens, collecting eggs, preparing simple farm-fresh foods, building projects, exploring insects and plants, and developing a deeper connection to the natural world.
Our program is designed to support the whole child socially, emotionally, physically, and creatively while encouraging confidence, responsibility, problem-solving, and independence in a calm and welcoming outdoor environment. Through seasonal rhythms, mixed-age learning, and meaningful hands-on work, children experience the joy of learning through everyday life on the farm.
Urban Green Harvest is more than a preschool—it is a community-centered working farm where families can reconnect with nature, local food, and a slower, more intentional way of living and learning together.
